Navy Seal Creed Rewritten for the Common Man
Editor's Note: From time to time we like to share cool works that we find. Though we do not know who wrote the following post, we do know that it is a version of the Navy Seal Creed, which has been rewritten for the common man. As athletes we feel that it is important to look within ourselves to evaluate what we stand for. Do we live for ourselves, our careers, and for material things? Or, do we stand for something more. Being fit is great, but at the end of the day our training is just a tool to improve the quality of our lives. We encourage you to read the following and to reflect who you live for. Feel free to share your thoughts below or on our Facebook page.
In a life of war and uncertainty there is a chosen breed of men ready to answer the Lord's call. Common men and women with the uncommon desire to glorify God.
Forged for adversity, they stand along side God's finest forces to serve the Lord and to protect all people from the devices of Satan, the world, and the flesh.
I am that man.
My Bible is a sword of honor and heritage. Bestowed upon me by the heroes that have gone before me. It embodies the trust of my Saviour who I have sworn to die for. By living the truth of the scriptures I accept the responsibility of my chosen mission and way of life. It is a privilege that I must walk worthy of every day according to the divine power that is within me.
My loyalty to God is beyond approach. I humbly serve as a disciple maker always ready to defend those who are unable to defend themselves. I do not advertise the nature of my work, nor seek recognition for my actions. I voluntarily accept the inherent hazards of my mission, placing the welfare and eternal security of others before my own.
I serve with honor in all places and at all times. The ability to control my emotions and my actions, regardless of circumstance, sets me apart from other men and women. Uncompromising integrity is my standard. My character and honor are steadfast. His word and blood seal our covenant.
I will never quit. I will persevere and thrive on adversity. My God expects me to be physically harder, emotionally deeper, mentally stronger, and spiritually wiser than all mine enemies. If I get knocked down, I will get back up, every time. I will draw on His strength to protect my brothers and to accomplish our mission. I am never out of the light.
I will pursue my God until my dying day in order to live blameless in the eyes of the world and make ready the next global force for good. My training and work will never be complete. The success of our mission depends on God. His sovereign power, protection, and purpose will rule me.
I train for battles and He will fight for me. I stand ready to bring the full spectrum of combat power to bear in order to achieve my mission and goals established by my God. The execution of my duties will be swift and violent against evil. My actions will be guided by the person and principles of Jesus Christ that provides true peace and freedom to mankind.
Brave men have fought and died worshipping, witnessing, and living for the Lord's name sake and that I am bound to uphold. In the worst of conditions, the legacy of my brothers, the encouragement of the saints, and the coming glory of my King steadies my resolve and silently guides my every deed.
I will be strong and of good courage. I will not be afraid nor dismayed because the Lord is with me wherever I go. He has never failed me.
